Animated reading and workshop on the text "Guizzino" by Leo Leonni
On the occasion of the 12th Unmatched Socks Day, the San Benedetto Abate school hosted the educators and children with disabilities from the Tintori day center in Modena for a project on inclusion.
The children proposed an animated reading of the text "Guizzino" by Leo Lionni to 5 year old children. This project was developed together with the boys about a year and a half ago, during which they actively collaborated in the creation of the animated reading, including the rich scenography and presentation methods.
The objective of this activity was to encourage relationships and meetings between the children of the day center and the school children, making them feel an active part of a wider community, but also participants and presenters of a very significant activity for them.
The show was captivating, with attention to scenographic details and much appreciated by young spectators. The children were impressed by the narration and the colorful scenography and followed the animated reading with extreme attention and enthusiasm, concluding the performance with long and warm applause. To thank the talented actors of the Tintori centre, the children of San Benedetto created two beautiful "paintings" on large posters, combining many small drawings they had made in the days preceding the meeting.
After the performance, with the help of the operators, an interactive workshop was conducted with the children: the children, guided by the educators, gave each child a numbered card on which the children had to draw the character from the story that had intrigued them the most. Once assembled into a single puzzle, the cards revealed the image of a large fish: the union of the individual individuals can create something unique and "invincible", just like in the story.
